Fournier, a leading manufacturer of casino playing cards since 1868, will introduce its latest innovation, a product aimed to increase security at baccarat tables, at next week's IGE in London.

After years of joint investigation with United States Playing Cards, a leader in Macau, where baccarat is the dominant game, Fournier is launching the Security Baccarat Shoe, an easy-to-use machine that will significantly reduce the risk of losses in the casino.

It identifies the cards by means of a proprietary code and shows the results in a display. This increases the security at baccarat tables, where casinos have traditionally faced a high risk.

Javier Berasategui, export director of the Spanish firm, said: "We have been manufacturing the most secure playing cards for 141 years and every year we are a little bit better in this field. Now is the right time to take a step forward and find new solutions for the baccarat game, a game that due to its characteristics leaves some security breaches.”
