The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan and Indiana has established Four Winds Ventures, which is set up to pursue “opportunities in the development, management and operation of businesses” in the gaming and related sectors.

The Pokagon Band Tribal Council will appoint a seven-member board of directors to oversee the company, which may consist of Pokagon Band citizens and non-citizens.
So far, five executives have been appointed to the board, comprising Mary Smith, chief operating officer; Raquel Buari, executive vice president of administration; Scott Brewer, senior vice president of community affairs/government relations/security; Brittany Frenchko, vice president of database and analytics; and Ronald Sorce, director of sales and catering.
“The Pokagon Band has had tremendous success operating our Four Winds Casino Resorts at four locations in Michigan and Indiana,” said Pokagon Band Tribal Council chairman Matthew Wesaw.
“This success has not only generated revenue to support our Tribal Nation which helps us provide essential government services to our citizens, but it has created tremendous economic and employment opportunities for surrounding communities and the region.”
