Denmark saw growth in several gambling sectors throughout 2024, especially online casino, according to the latest report from the Danish gambling authority Spillemyndigheden.
New figures published on the authority’s website show that the gambling spend on online casino was DKK 3,520m (US$494m) for the year, an increase of 14.4 per cent compared with 2023. Also betting and land-based casinos have experienced a minor increase of just over one per cent compared with the previous year.
However, the figures also show a minor fall in the spending on gaming machines of just over one per cent in 2024.
Figures on lotteries in 2024 will be available during spring 2025.
