This data, sourced from operators, reflects the period between March 2020 and June 2024, inclusive, and covers online and in-person gambling covering licensed betting operators found on Britain’s high streets.

Comparison should not be made with the industry statistics dataset, as this dataset may include free bets and bonuses and does not include data from all operators.

Online total gross gambling yield in Q1 was £1.46bn, an increase of 12 per cent from Q1 the previous year. The overall number of total bets and/or spins increased 11 per cent year-on-year, reaching a new peak for the second consecutive quarter of 24.5 billion, while the average monthly active accounts in the quarter increased nine per cent.

Real event betting GGY increased by 16 per cent to £625m. The number of bets decreased seven per cent, while the average monthly active accounts in Q1 increased 11 per cent. Major sporting events such as UEFA Euro 2024 taking place this quarter would be a contributing factor to this increase.
