The gross gambling revenue (GGR) from Chile’s 25 land-based casinos totalled CLP554.5bn (US$588.2m) in 2024, a 4.5 per cent dip in real terms from 2023.

Taxes generated reached CLP196.8bn ($208.8m), a decrease of 2023 of four per cent. This comprises CLP85.1bn ($90.2m) from specific tax on gambling, CLP82.3bn ($87.2m) from VAT and CLP29.5bn ($31.2m) from tax on entrance to gambling halls.

In total, the gambling casinos contributed a total of CLP65bn ($68.9m) to the municipalities for the economic offer in 2024. These payments are managed through the General Treasury of the Republic, to be distributed the month following their collection.
