Workers at Caesars Southern Indiana Hotel & Casino in Indiana, US, have voted to strike over contract negotiations by a margin of 98 per cent.

The group of more than 140 workers, represented by Teamsters Local 89 and Operating Engineers Local 399, are demanding “a contract that reflects their essential contributions” to the venue.
Owned and operated by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), Caesars Southern Indiana generated more than US$240m in 2024.
"Our members are united and ready to fight for the strongest possible agreement," said Avral Thompson, president of Local 89. "This vote sends a clear message - we will not back down. If management won't negotiate in good faith, we're prepared to take action."
"I've worked at Caesars for over seven years, and we deserve a contract that values our hard work and dedication," said Sandra Ramirez, a slot attendant at Caesars Southern Indiana and a member of Local 89. "No one wants to strike, but if management keeps disrespecting us at the bargaining table, we're ready to demand what we've earned."
"At this point, the ball is entirely in management's court," said Teamsters’ general secretary-treasurer Fred Zuckerman. "If Caesars faces a strike, management will have no-one to blame but themselves for the fallout. We stand ready to back our members every step of the way."
Meanwhile, at Tropicana Atlantic City in New Jersey, Caesars has launched its first branded, live dealer studio inside one of its properties.
The launch, made in partnership with Evolution, is the second custom studio made for Caesars live dealer offerings on its online casino platforms following the launch of the studio in Pennsylvania earlier this year.
Through the online platforms Caesars Palace Online Casino, Horseshoe Online Casino and Caesars Sportsbook & Casino, players can get that live dealer experience, drawing inspiration from Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace.
“The opening of this branded studio at one of our Caesars Rewards destinations introduces the newest addition to our ever-expanding online gaming platforms,” said Matt Sunderland, senior vice president and chief igaming officer at Caesars Digital. “We're always striving to marry the world-class experiences our players enjoy at our destinations with the online casino play they love.”
