Casinos in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, could reopen next week after closing August 25 due to Hurricane Laura, the New Orleans Advocate reported.
Golden Nugget and Penn National’s L’Auberge are trying to reopen in the next few days while slots at Boyd’s Delta Downs in nearby Vinton should be back online soon after, the publication quoted Louisiana Gaming Control Board chairman Mike Noel.
Caesars’ Isle of Capri may remain closed as the riverboat was damaged when it crashed a nearby bridge after breaking loose from its moorings. The land-based facility that will serve as the casino’s new home also suffered significant damage.
Construction of that $112.7 million project has been delayed due to Covid-19.
