Age verification and the necessity for operators running gaming machines to observe official requirements tops the agenda for UK trade association Bacta’s new head of social responsibility and compliance, Simon Bradbury.

In his first online briefing, Bradbury points out that while AGC operators have had to follow age verification guidelines voluntarily for some time, it now applies to all holders of Category A or B licences.

The Challenge 25 process needs every operator to record all challenges to show the effectiveness of their age verification policy and procedures. Bradbury outlines the requirements for FECs operating adult-only areas.

He notes that in the financial year ending in March of this year the pass rate was 84.6 per cent and in the last full quarter this had hit 90.38 per cent.

He reminds operators that they must submit details of their AV tests to the Gambling Commission for the year ending March 31 and each year after that within 42 days of the end of the year after June 12 this year.
