A new US$6m gaming area covering 15,000sq.ft has been set up inside the pavilion of the Ameristar Casino Hotel East Chicago, US.

The high limit slots and table games area makes Ameristar the first location in north-west Indiana to take advantage of an Indiana law dating back to 2015 that permits the state’s casinos to shift a section of its gaming operations to a land-based installation.
The casino is adjacent to the East Chicago Marina and only 25 miles from downtown Chicago. The location has a total of 71,000sq.ft of gaming, an hotel, fitness centre and three restaurants.
The opening of the land-based offering is part of a $15m renovation of the multi-level casino. The new high limit area has 95 slots and video poker machines with stakes from $1 to $100, 14 table games including 12 blackjack and two baccarat, and many comfort features for players.
The overall renovation project of the four-storey casino will include new floors, ceilings, lighting and decorations, new hi-def VVs, new slot bases, chairs and slot signage plus 100 new machines and table games.
