Genting Casino Chinatown was opened in Birmingham, UK, on February 11.

The launch was well attended by many of the local community as well as celebrities. It was timed to coincide with Chinese New Year and included a lion dance performed by the internationally renowned Choy Lee Fut dance team.

Formerly known as Genting Casino Hurst Street, the venue has undergone a refurbishment which recreates the spirit of eastern Asia. The casino now boasts a new restaurant, a karaoke bar and an enhanced gaming floor, all tailored specifically for the local market within and around Chinatown.

Paul Willcock, managing director of Genting Casinos UK, said: “It’s fantastic to see the casino clearly bringing our heritage to life in the UK. Genting has a proud history from its routes in Malaysia so this is a really exciting time for the company.”
