The streaming of live gaming from studios and land-based casinos for online consumption is now a big deal. At the helm of this expansion has been Evolution Gaming. James Marrison talks to the company’s Helen Hedgeland.

Live casino is an increasingly growing trend in i-gaming. Dismissed largely as a fad when it was first launched, today a large number of leading operators now offer live casino as part of their gaming offer.
Live casino offers players a new gaming experience and has benefited from the fact that customers now have much wider access to broadband in many jurisdictions. It can also provide a more sociable experience for customers and provide an arguably more authentic casino-like feel. As a result the product has grown, with operators offering the product in a wider range of languages while developers have looked at ways to incorporate the product across platforms in increasingly innovative ways.
InterGaming talked exclusively with Helen Hedgeland, head of marketing at Evolution Gaming, about some of the latest developments in the industry and to catch up on what we might expect to see next in the fast-growing live casino market. “Evolution Gaming was founded in 2006 at a time when live gaming on the internet was not considered viable in Europe. Far Eastern providers had tried to deliver it, but the quality simply wasn’t there. The accepted view was that a real-time video stream of an actual live game, dealer and result, could not be offered at a sufficient service level to satisfy a European audience.
