Romania

On August 25, the Romanian government announced a draft order, the effect of which will be to connect all gaming machines in the country to a central computer system.

The regulation applies to slot machines and to betting games, which will all be connected to the National Gambling Office.

The authorities have also issued draft orders for the technical requirements for gambling operators to comply with, which include the income data and prizes awarded information on a daily basis.

The operators’ income will be calculated from the difference between the amounts collected from the players and prizes awarded.

All gaming machines in the country will have to be connected to the system by December 31, 2015.
