Merkur Gaming, the Gauselmann Group’s international sales brand, has moved quickly to replace the late Jens Halle.

Charles Hiten

The new managing director of Merkur Gaming Americas is Charles Hiten, a former colleague and close friend of Halle.

Hiten will be responsible for the sales activities of Gauselmann in North, Central and South America and will continue the process begun by Halle to further consolidate and expand sales activities in the Americas.

Said Jürgen Stühmeyer, sales director for the group: "With Charles Hiten we have gained an acknowledged expert in the industry and will enrich Merkur Gaming with his wealth of knowledge and experience.”

Hiten has more than 15 years in the gaming industry in a number of senior positions in international companies. Most recently he ran Novomatic AG’s investment strategy in the Chilean market. As managing director of Merkur Gaming Americas, he will work from the Florida office, from where he will also handle the activities in the Caribbean and cruise ship markets.

“The collaboration with Merkur Gaming and the resulting potential are a promising opportunity both for me, as well as for our customers and business partners," said Hiten. "Together, we want to continue on the path that Jens Halle began, namely of positioning Merkur Gaming as the most important provider in the Americas region."
