The European Commission has approved a series of amendments to the Danish online gaming legislation, which include stronger anti-money laundering measures, adjustments to taxation and the creation of a new licence for daily fantasy sports operators.

The changes will introduce a differentiation between operators based on annual revenue. Those with an annual turnover of more than KR 100m (€13.4m) will see a rise in licensing costs while for those operators below the KR 100m threshold the licence costs are reduced.

The amendments to the country’s Gambling Act also mean that licence holders will be able to renew at a lower cost.
