Codere celebrates 'historical' performance in 2007
Codere Group has celebrated its first shareholders' meeting since October, when the Spanish sports betting giant started quoting on the stock market.
In a speech to shareholders at the company's Madrid headquarters, president José Antonio Martínez Sampedro said: "The last financial operation was historical for Codere, because its quote to the market has been an important milestone for the company - the first firm in the Spanish gambling sector that quotes on the stock market."
During the meeting, Sampedro said the performance of the group in 2007 presented a consistent evolution with regards to the firm's wider goals. Income grew more than 20 per cent and reached €915m, while EBITDA reached €197m, a rise of 12 per cent on 2006.
