Credentials management company Jumio has provided XP Capital with Netverify, software to authenticate the identity of players.
XP Capital customers will be able to use the camera on their mobile device to scan their ID document which is then validated by Jumio’s technology to ensure that players are who they say they are and that they are of legal age.
Identifying customers is crucial for mobile game providers due to their legal obligation to know their customer for a range of products and services. Previously the online gaming industry required customers to fax or email proof of ID to allow customers to make a transaction.
