The US has warned the nation of Antigua and Barbuda not to retaliate against American restrictions on internet gambling by authorising the "theft" of US intellectual property.

Nkenge Harmon, spokeswoman for the US Trade Representative's office, said that “government-authorised piracy” would undermine the chances for a settlement in the internet gambling case.

"It also would serve as a major impediment to foreign investment in the Antiguan economy, particularly in high-tech industries," added Harmon.
