Sportsbet, the Australian-focused betting website owned by Paddy Power, has relaunched its sites using sportsbook software designed by OpenBet.

Paddy Power invested in Sportsbet in 2009 before taking full control of the company. As part of their ongoing business partnership, OpenBet was chosen by Paddy Power to develop and migrate Sportsbet and thoroughbred wagering website IASbet onto its platform.

Cormac Barry, chief executive officer of Sportsbet, said choosing OpenBet for this task was an “obvious option”.

“With OpenBet’s unrivalled sportsbook and expertise together with that of Paddy Power, it has allowed us to supercharge the development of Sportsbet and provide a scalable platform that will continue to drive the business forward.”

Sportsbet will have access to a number of platform features, including the centralised OpenBet Account that provides a single view of every customer and their betting activity across multiple channels. Other features include the latest versions of OpenBet’s Trading Interface and Telebet II browser-based application, in addition to the integration of LiveOdds, which allows customers to take advantage of live betting via the call centre.

According to Jenny Thompson-Hill, OpenBet’s chief operating officer, this latest project further strengthens its relationship with the Irish bookmaker.

“Having worked with Paddy Power for 10 years, we view this as a positive endorsement of the quality of our sportsbook platform.”
