Ian Thomson has been appointed general manager of Aruze Gaming Australia.

Thomson has a background in gaming and gaming-related industries, having previously held roles with Aristocrat Technologies, ebet Gaming Systems and the Independent Liquor Group.

“There are a number of people at Aruze with whom I had previously worked and certainly my previous time in the gaming industry meant that I was familiar with the process and terms of the gaming industry,” he said. “What has impressed me is the chairman Mr Okada’s unwavering commitment to the Australian gaming industry.

“The purchase of True Blue Gaming last year means that Aruze will, by early 2011, have a number of new Scott Olive designed games roll out for sale. We are also close to submission for Queensland approvals which should see us release games in that state in mid-2011.

“Finally, our Japan-based R&D team continues to develop very impressive new-style games for the New South Wales market.”
