Ray Lesniak, the long-serving Democrat senator for the US state of New Jersey, is to introduce a bill that would lead to the significant expansion of the state’s i-gaming market, reports the New York Observer.

Lesniak seeking NJ i-gaming expansion

Lesniak, a pro-gaming politician who was instrumental in the launch of a regulated market in New jersey in 2013, now wants to allow gamblers in other states and countries where real-money i-gaming is legal to be able to play on New Jersey gaming sites.

The senator said the new bill would allow the state to generate more revenue by expanding the market. “Online gaming has helped Atlantic City to revive its casino sector with a success that we can expand in ways that will generate more revenue, create jobs and fuel technological innovation in gaming.”

The bill would also remove the requirement for gaming servers to be located within Atlantic City.
