In the clearest sign yet that Colossus Bets innovative new Syndicates product is catching on, a 190-strong collective was on the brink of winning £200,000 – dependent on the outcome of last night's Premier League match between Chelsea and Watford.

Colossus Syndicates nears £200k milestone

Having entered the Colossus Pick 20 Asian Handicap pool with a crowdfunded £1,024 ticket, the Syndicate - led by captain TwoPoundPunt - needed Chelsea to beat Watford by at least two goals to scoop £200,000.

Sadly for TwoPoundPunt and his syndicate, although Chelsea did eventually run out 4-3 winners after a pulsating match at Stamford Bridge, the win was not by sufficient margin to secure the £200,000 pot.

However, the syndicate cashed in £38,000 and, with consoltaion money, still took home £44,000 - so weren't left empty-handed by Watford's stubborn resistance.

Bernard Marantelli, Colossus Bets CEO and founder, said: “Colossus Syndicates has already surpassed our expectations in terms of popularity among regular sports bettors and newcomers alike.

“We are currently working on a number of enhancements for the new season, including a leaderboard to augment the social element of the product.”
