Online gaming win in the US state of New Jersey broke new ground in March, recording a 40 per cent increase year on year, to $21.8m.

It the highest monthly figure since the market was regulated in 2013 and is also the first time monthly internet gaming win has passed the $20m mark.

For the year to date, real-money i-gaming in the Garden State has seen a total win of $632m, an increase of 5.7 per cent against the same period in 2016.

Golden Nugget more than doubled its win for March, year on year, to $6.18m, making it now the leading i-gaming operator in the state.

Meanwhile state’s early trailblazer, Borgata, posted $4.35m in March, a modest rise of just three per cent year on year.

The other big mover was Resorts Digital, home to PokerStars’ New Jersey operation, which saw i-gaming win climb more than 123 per cent year on year, to $3.86m last month.

However, Caesars Interactive flatlined, stuck at $3.15m in March, down very slightly from the $3.16m win seen in March, 2016.

Mid-table is occupied by Tropicana, whose online operations grew a respectable 21.9 per cent year on year to $3.86m last month.
