The third edition of SiGMA, the Malta i-gaming event that took place at the Intercontinental Arena in St Julian’s earlier this month, welcomed a record 4,000 visitors.

SiGMA a record-breaker

Organisers had expected around 3,000 attendees but actual numbers topped 4,000, double last year’s total.

In a statement, the organiser said: “After receiving plenty of great feedback, this year’s summit saw some great upgrades, including the fact that over 300 affiliates flew to Malta from the organiser’s own pockets.

“There are plans to double-down on this idea with 300 fresh flights for new affiliates [in 2017], thus injecting the show with ‘fresh traffic’.

“An additional 300 flights are also planned for B2B C-level executives - a whopping 600 new attendees for 2017.”

The BiG Charity Dinner was brought to SiGMA for the first time as well. The first ever Malta iGaming Awards was held together with the BiG Foundation Dinner at the InterContinental BallRoom.

Among the other new events introduced was the SiGMA Startup Pitch, which brought together nine start-ups and seven investors under one roof. The winner of the Startup Pitch was Commologic, an innovative sports book software provider based in Israel and licensed in UK, Malta and Denmark.
