With Euro 2016, this summer’s major sports betting event, kicking off in France next week, lottery operator Singapore Pools is still awaiting approval to launch its first online betting website.
A spokesman from Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs told The Straits Times that the application from Singapore Pools for exemption from laws that limit online betting is still being evaluated.
Singapore Pools has teamed up with OpenBet for the launch but both face an anxious wait for an exemption certificate as the biggest-ever European football championships loom.
