Odobo, the Gibraltar-based developer programme and marketplace for regulated online gaming, has gone out of business.

In a notice published on the company website, Odobo said that it could not meet its costs and was closing as a consequence.

It said: “As our industry has evolved, it has become clear that marketplaces like ours require wider scale to survive in an increasingly complex and fragmented regulatory landscape. We needed to recognise that the velocity with which the business was growing was outpaced by the costs associated with providing the services that Odobo offered.

“As a result, we have made the very difficult decision to close the business.”

The aim of the Odobo Marketplace was to provide a lucrative common ground for operators seeking innovative new content and game studios that used the Odobo development kit to bring their products to the marketplace.

Odobo ceased trading on May 31 with the company’s offices in Gibraltar to close on June 10.

“This decision was not taken lightly and we sincerely regret that it affects the partners and clients that have supported us,” the statement read.

“We are proud of what we have achieved together and are grateful to the investors, developers, operators and suppliers who have been part of our journey.”

Odobo had agreements in place with a wide range of developers, including Youyougaming and Rabcat, and operators such as Gala Coral, Mr Green, LeoVegas and bet365.

Ashley Lang, CEO and founder of Odobo, was not available for comment.
