Yggdrasil Gaming has submitted the formal application to obtain a B2B remote gaming licence from the Gibraltar Licensing Authority.

In December, Yggdrasil received its licences by the UK Gambling Commission to offer its gaming platform and games to British residents. The company, which is based in Malta with offices in Poland, has expanded rapidly over the past 12 months, signing numerous operators and releasing a range of new games and promotional concepts.

Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil, said: “We were over the moon to be invited to apply for a Gibraltar licence. It’s an exclusive jurisdiction, with a number of the major operators based there, and we believe it will be a fantastic new hunting ground for us.

“We’ve pretty much covered all the player liquidity available from the operators in Malta, so now is the time for us to be targeting Gibraltar where we will be building up our presence.

“We’ll be putting some people on the ground in Gibraltar and are actively recruiting. We strongly believe we can hit the ground running as we have carved out a niche for ourselves that is different from other suppliers.”

Yggdrasil’s portfolio contains a wide range of casino games, including Chibeasties, Cyrus the Virus, Cazino Zeppelin and Jokerizer.

The company also won iGaming Software Supplier of the Year at the 2016 International Gaming Awards and Software Rising Star at the 2015 EGR B2B Awards.
