ON October 1, 2015, the main provisions of the Consumer Rights Act (the “Act”) came into force in England and Wales.

The Act is an evolution in consumer rights. It brings together, improves and updates UK consumer law for a new era of commerce. Now, for the first time, existing UK legislation on the sale of goods, supply of services and unfair contractual terms has been brought together and consolidated into a simple, modern framework of consumer rights.
