Gross gaming revenues also rose by 54 per cent - to DK7.8bn (€905m) - after the addition of four new slot games, Golden Pyramid, Sideshow, Sunny Farm and Bank Walt, all from Spilnu’s principal supplier and sister company Magnet Gaming.

Mads Peter Veiby, Spilnu.dk chief executive and co-founder, said: “The decision to fully optimise our offering and provide players with the best games for multiple devices is already paying dividends, with a rapidly-rising 25 per cent of sessions now on mobile.

“We have a compelling proposition for players in a rapidly-developing market and the great retention rates prove that people are enjoying the experience and coming back for more.”

Danske Spil owns 60 per cent of both Spilnu.dk and Magnet Gaming.
