Minister for economic development Laurence Skelly MHK said: "I am extremely grateful to Peter for all he has achieved during his two years with the department.

"During that time he has led the way in helping the Isle of Man maintain its status for e-gaming excellence and in growing awareness of the island’s capabilities in ICT, particularly in respect to crypto-currencies.

“E-business is the island’s fastest growing sector, creating over 100 new jobs last year with half as a result of direct involvement from Peter and his team. He has also steered the Isle of Man through a raft of legislative and regulatory issues such as the UK’s point-of-consumption tax."

Chris Corlett, chief executive, department of economic development, added: "This is a key role for the Isle of Man and the recruitment process for Peter’s successor has already started. I am delighted that he has agreed to assist with the transition to ensure we maintain the excellent momentum we have created in this sector.”
