Playtech and Microgaming both took advantage of the Tuesday, June 2, deadline set by the Spanish regulator for the allowance of casino slot games, by making online and mobile slots catalogues available to their licensees in the country.

Shimon Akad, COO of Playtech, said: “The inclusion of online casino games and slots in Spain is a major breakthrough and will serve to increase our market share there. “Our licensees and their players can now enjoy a complete 'omni-channel' gaming solution online, on any mobile device, in-venue, and in retail outlets, across casino, bingo, poker, sports, virtual, live, and social, casual and fixed-odds games.”

Prima Networks, powered by Microgaming, went live with slots with 12 licensed operators in Spain. Loraine Schoevers, director of Prima, said: “The addition of slots to the regulated Spanish market is a very exciting development.

"Having a large suite of games available in both online and mobile at launch puts us in a fantastic position to lead the way in slot provision in Spain. We are proud to have 12 licensed operators signed, many of which are taking Microgaming slot content exclusively, and we hope to grow our presence in this market even further in the coming months.”
