The Dutch gambling regulator, the KSA, last week began accepting pre-applications from operators interesting in offering services in the Netherlands – in the same week it issued a record fine to Imperial E-Club.

Applications for licences can be submitted via the KSA website as the regulator invites operators to declare their interest in the Dutch market.

In a separate move, Imperial E-Club, which operates as TitanBet, among others, has been issued with a record €200,000 fine by the KSA.

In a statement, the regulator said: "Imperial E-Club received from the Kansspelautorteit a fine of €200,000 for the provision of online gambling without a licence. The company operates seven sites, partly aimed at the Dutch market, where casino games and sports betting are offered.

"This penalty is the highest fine that the gaming authority has ever imposed on an individual company to date. The reason is mainly based on the large number of websites that Imperial E-Club offered and the large number of gambling games that could be played on such sites."
