A court in the US state of California has issued a temporary injunction preventing the Santa Ysabel Indians from operating its real-money online bingo site, DesertRoseBingo.com.
A federal district court granted the injunction following a request from the office of the attorney general of the state of California, which is suing to stop the tribe from conducting online gaming.
Santa Ysabel, meanwhile, maintains that it is permitted by federal law to offer online bingo from servers sited on its reservation. The injunction could also have implications for the tribe’s online poker site, PrivateTables.com, which is set to be launched in the coming weeks.
