The Fraud and Security team at the Equity Poker Network has uncovered collusion between four network player account holders engaged in the fraudulent activity of “chip dumping”.

On September 17, EPN operator 5Dimes incorrectly credited “a very large sum” to the online account of one of its players, EPN said in a statement.

Responding to the mistake, the individual then played against three other players with new Full Flush Poker accounts registered on September 18.

The 5Dimes player deliberately lost large sums, “dumping” the chips in order to move the money for the FFP players to withdraw from their accounts.

However, 5Dimes had notified EPN’s Fraud and Security team, which began monitoring the 5Dimes’ player’s online gameplay, subsequently identifying the suspicious activity.

Following further investigation and analysis of the hand histories of the four accounts, it was determined that the 5Dimes player had been dumping chips consistently to the three FFP players - who in turn attempted to withdraw thousands of dollars from their player accounts.

EPN said in a statement that “it was clear that the three FFP accounts were set up for the sole purpose of cashing out as much of the misappropriated funds as possible.”

The funds were confiscated from the three flagged FFP accounts and returned to 5Dimes.
