Interwetten has reported a seven per cent growth in revenue to €11.1m for the first quarter of 2014.

Spokesman Werner Becher said organic growth would have been 11 per cent had the company not had to withdraw from Belgium and Greece in 2013 due to regulatory reasons.

Interwetten now achieves 40 per cent of its turnover via sports bets placed from mobile devices with the turnover share for mobile expected to increase further during the World Cup.

Mobile gaming also now constitutes today 20 per cent of total casino turnover.

Marketing expenses during the first quarter of 2014 jumped by 28 per cent as Interwetten continues to target the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and a wider improvement in brand awareness.
