In an email to CEOs of companies exhibiting at ICE Totally Gaming 2014, organiser Clarion Events has assured exhibitors about the limited impact that proposed industrial action on the London Underground would have on the event.

The message, from Clarion’s Kate Chambers, reads: “I have spoken with the transport authorities who confirmed that the action will not close the underground network down, but instead result in reduced services.

“We have set up a team to focus on the issues and are in constant contact with the owners of ExCeL who have experienced similar situations before. Together we are examining contingencies to reduce any potential disruption and I will keep you fully updated."

The strike, which may yet be averted, is currently planned to take place for a period of 48 hours from midday on Tuesday, February 4. While the action would have a limited effect on the London Underground, services on the Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express, overground lines and the DLR – which serves the ExCeL exhibition centre - will not be affected.
