IT is understandable that e-sports protagonists should wish to highlight its differences from more traditional sports.

In terms of the culture, the audience it attracts and rate of growth we have witnessed in a few short years, the e-sports phenomenon represents the challenge of the new to old sporting models. But in one very important respect, those involved in e-sports are all too aware there are lessons to be learned from the wider sporting world. That is the issue of the integrity of the competitions and the players involved.
