O’Leary, who replaces Robin Le Provost, will concentrate on promoting the jurisdiction and joins from offshore law firm Collas Crill, where she was a member of the e-commerce and e-gambling team.

She said: "I am delighted to take up this position and, having represented some of the world's leading e-gambling operators and gambling service providers over the years, including many of Alderney's licensees, I have a keen sense of what operators and gambling service providers require.

“I look forward to representing Alderney in this fast-paced and ever-changing industry, and to building on the excellent relationships developed over many years with local and international operators, regulators and service providers."

Le Prevost has stepped down from the position as director of e-commerce following nine years in the role. “It is always sad to move on but I am looking to the future with high anticipation,” he said.

“I am immensely proud of what I have been able to achieve over that time with Alderney. I recall when I first got involved indirectly in 2003 we had just 10 or 12 racks of servers and were using 20MB of bandwidth. We grew that to around 800 racks using several gigabits of bandwidth at our peak.

“Alderney is a world class-hub for gambling services and I believe I played a significant role in this achievement,” said Le Provost.

André Wilsenach, executive director of the AGCC, told InterGame: “'Robin has been an integral part of Alderney’s success as an e-gambling jurisdiction and I wish him well for the future.”
