IAAPI Trade Show 2013

Hall 7 A,B,C,D, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi – India

Event Information

The Indian trade show, held this year in Delhi, rather than Mumbai, and which closed yesterday after a three-day run, aroused the usual crop of complaints about the quality of the location and the poor organisation, the absence of serious buyers and the organisers’ insistence on opening the show to the general public.

The IAAPI trade show – it is run by the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industry – was held at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

The opening of the show attracted the now-usual outcry from seasoned international industry people at the low quality of the organisation and fitting of the show, and of the venue itself, which Sonaal Chopra, CEO of Timezone, the major amusement centre operators, described as “appalling.”

Similar criticisms were voiced by Sebastian Mochkovsky of Sacoa, the suppliers of debit card systems and by his competitor, Alberto Borrero of Intercard.

Prakash Vivekanand, general manager at Dubai’s ASI and a regular exhibitor – and critic – at the show, was this time happier, citing Delhi as a good move after Mumbai, an improved location, better organisation and higher standard of visitor. At the same time, Mark Horwood of UDC, another exhibitor, noted the growing standards in Indian FEC locations and declared himself well satisfied with the show.
