Coastal Amusements is a leading manufacturer of coin-operated redemption games for family centres. The company has more than 20 years’ experience within the amusement industry and aims to provide customers with the most reliable, popular and profitable games the industry has to offer. At EAG, the company’s products will be presented on the Harry Levy stand. Among those on show will be two games, Temple Run and Simpsons Soccer, that have already generated a great deal of interest among operators. Coastal Amusements’ Temple Run is a game based on the licensed smart phone game app that to date has been downloaded over 133 million times worldwide. The immediately identifiable title, along with the competitive nature of the play, has enabled Coastal to release two versions of the unit - a redemption unit and a dedicated video game. Coastal Amusements has combined one of the world’s most recognisable cast of characters with the world’s most popular sport to create The Simpsons Soccer. Homer Simpson is the goalie as the player must score as often as possible in the allotted time. Players can enjoy Simpsons video images displayed on the LCD monitor.

Innovative Technology’s NV11 note recycler will be one of the key focusses at this year’s EAG exhibition. Ideal for amusement and vending operations, the NV11 significantly lowers operational costs by reducing coin starvation and maximising cash efficiency. Combining an NV9 USB bank note validator (one of Innovative’s most popular models and a proven bank note validator) and a note float payout unit, the NV11 is a compact note recycler that can store and recycle up to 30 notes. The NV11 comes with a standard 300 note capacity cashbox and runs in eSSP (encrypted Smiley Secure Protocol) or ccTalk. The NV11 leaves the factory pre-set to at least one currency so is ready for immediate installation. The NV11 was designed initially for the Spanish market and has been implemented by some of the country’s major operators. Over the last 12 months the success of the NV11 has spread across Europe, in particularly the UK where a number of manufacturers and operators are now choosing the NV11 as their compact note recycler of choice.
Following a successful year distributing Tecway kiddie rides, JNC Sales has added Kiddie Jet Ski and Kiddie Bulldozer to the range. With a ticket payout option on all Tecway kiddie rides, the game play has been further enhanced. Kiddie Submarine proved to be a hit at EAG 2012 and early test results for Kiddie Jet Ski suggest that it will also be a great money earner, the company said. JNC Sales is also exhibiting the Klobber the Robber whacker, which is made by Feiloli. This has been designed to the company’s specification but is based on proven machines previously made by Feiloli, a company renowned for the quality of its build. Also from Feiloli will be Galaxy Garrison, which is a “great value” whacker that has had very positive test results in 2012. Following the purchase of all the machines from the Trocadero Amusement Centre in London in the summer of 2012, JNC’s stock of quality used video, redemption and pusher machines is “unbeatable” and, said the company, ready for quick delivery. With significant investment in its after sales department, JNC offers a comprehensive service in the event that a machine needs back up, or requires spare or replacement parts.
Among the many products on display at the LAI booth will be Balloon Buster, a carnival themed prize merchandiser that vends prizes suspended by balloons. Vintage-looking cabinet graphics and carnival barker voice prompts add to the fun. Operators can choose from global or individual prize adjustment settings.

Additional features of the SP include a unique bonus credit system and remote downloading of firmware and software. This build option allows fitting of the validator to standard door assemblies, providing an opportunity for video game and crane machine suppliers, among others, to utilise the unsurpassed features and reliability of this model.
Bandai Namco is launching its Fun to Win range of redemption games at EAG this year. These new machines form a new direction for Namco, which has dedicated a specialist team to research the sector. Following two years of R&D, the first five games have been released and include:
• Pac-Man Basket - A Pac-Man branded basketball game where players are challenged with different game levels and a moving basket in order to achieve the highest score.
• Ghost Bowl - Pac-Man themed with great sound effects and designed to be perfect for smaller locations, this is two-thirds of the length of traditional roller games. Players roll balls up the alley and under the playfield, where it drops into the scoring holes.
• Rush for Goal - A rotating circular playfield is filled with dozens of mini footballs with different ticket values. The player presses a button to send a football player forward to push as many footballs off the playfield as possible.
• Triple Drop - In this new redemption ball game, players push a lever to release a ball at the top of the game. The timing needs to be just right so that the ball falls into the tube with the highest ticket value. If the ball falls through the bonus hole, three additional balls are released. If it falls through the jackpot hole, a big ticket prize is paid out.
• Ball Spectacular - Players release a ball into a vertical peg-filled playfield filled with gates of different ticket values. Ticket amounts can be accumulated as the ball passes through several gates, hitting the Mini or Grand gates releases multi-ball stages of five or up to 25 additional balls for large ticket wins.

Northern Leisure Group/Kiddy Rides, one of the UK’s largest independent manufacturers and operators of children’s coin-operated rides, offer a one-stop-shop for all kiddie ride requirements. With over 26 years of experience, Kiddy Rides can offer services in all areas of children’s coin-op rides and entertainment products, regardless of the make or manufacturer. Northern Leisure’s Wendy Townsend commented: “All our rides are designed and manufactured in the UK. We use high quality lead-free gel to ensure the rides stay looking fresh for the maximum amount of time. We design and develop equipment and evaluate the marketplace to ensure we produce products that we believe offer something extra, always considering their operational aspects along with the safety and fun elements.” The latest addition to Kiddy Rides’ portfolio is the new licensed ride Olly The Little White Van. The ride is based on the children’s TV character Olly. The ride has a small footprint and features the familiar voice of children’s favourite TV personality Justin Fletcher, along with the show’s upbeat theme tune and pushbutton sound effects. The company also manufactures rides taken from the BAFTA award-winning children’s TV series Peppa Pig. The rides include the Peppa Pig Car and the Peppa Pig Rocket, which is a three-seater oscillating space rocket as featured in the show. The rides have proven very popular with children and operators, smashing takings records of recent years.
A new two-player game, Explosive!, by Benchmark Games will be the focus of the UDC stand at EAG. To date, the game has only been shown at IAAPA in the US, and so the show will mark its European debut. The game is similar in many respects to the popular Pop-It-For-Gold game by the same company, yet updates the concept. Players are challenged to time hitting a button to pump as much air as possible into balloons to win tickets. Below the balloons is a spinning circular saw that is used to pop the balloons when they get large enough to be caught by it. The addition of these constantly spinning saws adds a new element of drama where players and spectators alike can see just how close the balloon is approaching the imminent danger. When the balloon is eventually popped it makes a loud bang and the player wins a big bonus bundle of tickets.
New models, including themed Formula-One Racing Teams, Super-Trikes, Off-Road Jeeps and larger Quad Bikes, as well as exciting new Hyper-Battle Soft-Impact Bumper Cars and Bumper Boats, will all be shown on World or Rides’ stand at the EAG expo. It is the company’s belief that the despite the continuing financial recession, “Family fun is here to stay.” This, the company said, was proven by the large number of seaside resorts, visitor attractions, holiday parks, piers, FECs, zoos and bowling alleys that purchased their rides during 2012 to keep their customers returning again and again. This is in spite of bad weather, as they no longer needed to close their facilities whenever it rained but simply move their battery rides indoors. “World of Rides’ coin-operated and pollution-free battery rides are now established as the most popular and profitable choice to fill the void of needing more family attractions that can be played together, due to their ‘parent and child’ twin seats and the fastest return on investment in the entire children’s ride sector,” the company claimed.
Canada’s Adrenaline has created a new breed of prize merchandiser with its new Black Out product. The players has five tries to flick over special characters at a darkened sun that appears on the screen. By covering 100 per cent of the sun's surface, players can win prizes.
