BGT, developer of retail betting technology, has unveiled details of its new app.

The Retail Mobile App, set for a January 2017 release, is designed to allow customers to take control of their bets away from a betting terminal or shop.

Using QR code technology, the app will scan a printed bet slip and store this information locally, allowing the customer to see their digitised betting slip as they would online. This will allow customers to cash out their bet wherever they are.

As well as incorporating features often seen in online betting, such as early cash out, live match information and statistics, the Retail Mobile App also offers customers in-play match visualisations of the games they’ve bet on across a number of sports.

The customer can store as many tickets as they like in the app which also provides an archiving functionality, allowing them to store and filter old bet tickets.

The app’s ticketless technology allows players to discard the paper copy of their ticket once it has been scanned as the digital ticket will be perfectly valid. BGT has made some changes to its sports betting terminals; balances eschewed from cashed out tickets that have been added to the Retail Mobile App can be transferred to any terminal, encouraging customers to recycle their winnings in a betting shop while allowing them to retain their anonymity.
