After almost 15 years at Bally Wulff in Germany, latterly as joint managing director, Tim Wittenbecher has decided to leave the company - and the industry - in order to build up his own business.

From July 2013 he will expand the Lighthouse Hotel chain, which he has successfully launched with his wife during the past few years.

In parallel to Wittenbacher's move into the tourism industry, Wolfram Seiffert, the second managing director, who is in charge of the German domestic sales organisation, will move into another position in the Schmidt Group.

Ulrich and Arne Schmidt, the owners of Bally Wulff, announced that Lars Rogge will take over the sales and export activities. Rogge has a long history in the industry, running his own operation, and has been a board member of the operators' association Forum e.V. In the time before his departure, Wittenbecher will introduce Rogge to all his international contacts which he has built up for Bally Wulff.

In a statement, Ulrich and Arne Schmidt thanked Wittenbacher for his long and dedicated service at Bally Wulff: "He brought Bally Wulff through good and bad times with good ideas, strong alliances and great skill in motivating both the employees and partners of the company.”
