Australia’s Laserforce has launched its latest generation laser tag system, Gen7.

According to the company, Gen7 offers new profit-making features, of which two are pending patent applications.
Each Gen7 battlesuit has over 1gb of music, sound effects and real-time speech patterns stored in the on-board computer. This enables players and operators can customise music and sound effects to their own tastes. The Gen7 battlesuits utilise audio and stereo sound played through shoulder speakers.
“It’s amazing the difference in technology now compared with what we had in 1988,” said Laserforce founder Len Kelly. “The players have so much fun and the operators make exceptionally good money through reliable equipment packed with hard-earned repeat play features.
“The latest gear has full offsite management tools that analyse maintenance needs and usage reports.”
Another feature of the Gen7 systems is the use of RFID Proximity Cards. Players can load their cards with Laserforce credits and log into the game by swiping it against the chest plate. This means that the battlesuits are equipped to take payment directly from the card payment system.
Laserforce will be demonstrating the Gen7 system at the forthcoming IAAPA show in Florida, US
