The Lib Dems are seeking to cap stakes on FOBTs at £2, down from the current maximum of £100 per spin.

Derek Webb, founder of the Campaign for Fairer Gambling, described the proposals as a “positive step in the right direction.”

“Recommendations from the Lib Dems to reduce the maximum stake on FOBTs to £2 is directly in line with one of the Campaign for Fairer Gambling’s main objectives,” he said, adding that reducing the maximum stake on such terminals is a “matter of urgency.”
