The German-based Gauselmann Group has bought a controlling interest in Dosniha, the major Spanish distributor and arcades operator, based in Majorca.

The deal was confirmed this week by Gauselmann Group director Jürgen Stühmeier, during the FER show in Madrid. Dosniha has some major distribution lines, particularly Interblock, the multiplayer automated casino table games maker. It also has nine arcades on Majorca. These, said Stühmeier, would be gradually rebranded Merkur Casino.

He emphasised that the arrangement for the distribution of Merkur Gaming machines in Spain would now be split. The Merkur distributor Sente would continue to handle Spanish machines developed jointly by Sente engineers with their counterparts in Germany. Meanwhile, Dosniha would distribute a totally different range of machines for Spain.

Dosniha would continue to be run by Carlos Chacon and Theo Tock, in conjunction with Theo’s son, David Tock.
