In its financial results for the 12 weeks to July 2, Gala Coral has reported an eight per cent decrease in turnover to £251.8m compared to the previous year.
When excluding the 2010 World Cup and prize bingo, however, the group reported a level turnover year on year.
Remote turnover for Gala Coral, which announced a long-term software contract with Playtech last month, continues to fall behind previous year levels, with profitability five per cent lower than Q3 2010. Eurobet Italia showed continued growth (up 19 per cent) in sports betting amounts staked (excluding the 2010 World Cup), although gross win margins remained variable in the quarter and below those achieved in the prior year.
