A large portion of an old Kellogg’s cereal plant in East London in Ontario, Canada, will be reborn as an indoor adventure park called The Factory, which is set to open in January, 2018.

Kellogg’s factory to become fun factory

The site will feature a ropes course, a trampoline park, electric go-karts, mini-golf, escape rooms, axe throwing, an arcade and a toddler soft play area.

Another portion of the plant will be occupied by London’s newest craft brewery, named Silverstacks for the huge smoke stacks in the former Kellogg’s power plant.

The Factory’s ropes course will have two 23m towers connected by a zipline with almost 100 obstacles in between, geared to different skill levels.

General manager Dan Cassidy, one of four partners in the business, has a background in customer service, including managing a Canadian tyre store. He and his financial partners believe the London market is ready for a big recreational attraction that will draw families year-round.

The adventure park and craft brewery are the first phase of a multi-year plan by Canada-based E and E McLaughlin, a company with a history of offering older buildings a new lease on life, to redevelop the 93,000sq.m of building space, now renamed 100 Kellogg, for a variety of uses, including office, warehouse, light industrial, recreation and retail.

The CA$7m, 15,400sq.m entertainment venue, has been under development since January.
