Ka-Ko Jo’s, a new family-run FEC, is set to open on the west side of the Greeley Mall in Greeley, Colorado, US, within the coming weeks.

Sean Kennedy, the owner along with his wife, Bobbi, has experience with coin-op as the couple also operate a number of bars across nine states. “So we are used to installing boxing machines, jukeboxes and massage chairs in a lot of our other sites,” he told InterGame.

The construction of this site has proven to be the biggest challenge for the family. “In the past, we have just introduced a machine to a location, but there has been a lot of out-of-pocket expenses with this venture. Between construction and workers you can wrap up $750,000 to $1,000,000 really easily.”

The site is still interviewing staff, having already appointed an operations manager. It is still looking for a technician and general staff. “Altogether we will need about 10 to15 staff,” he said. “Mostly we will be hiring college and high school staff for part time work.”

The location is 10,000sq.m but Kennedy hopes to eventually expand to 14,000sq.m. “If we can work something out with the mall we would like to install glow golf (UV golf).”
