Cineplex, a leading entertainment and media company, opened a new Rec Room, an amusement space the Canadian company is adding to many of its sites, in Toronto’s Historic Roundhouse.
With half of the 40,000sq.ft complex devoted to amusement games and attractions and the other half to dining and live entertainment the site aims to cater to groups of friends, celebrations and corporate events.
Cineplex plans to open 10 to 15 new locations of the Rec Room over the coming years, each ranging in size from 40,000 to 60,000sq.ft and customised to the individual community.
Locations are now open in Toronto and South Edmonton, with plans announced for complexes in London (Ontario), Mississauga, Calgary and Vancouver, as well as an additional location in Edmonton at West Edmonton Mall.
