The Italian amusement industry is breaking away from the normal trade show channels and running its own exhibition in four weeks’ time.

Italy

The principal suppliers of non-gambling equipment in the country have banded together to launch the Family Entertainment Expo, which will be held at the Palacongressi, Riccione, close to Rimini where the traditional ENADA trade shows are held annually. FEE will run from March 17-19.

Supporting FEE with stands will be Tecnoplay, Faro Games, Elmac and around another 15 to 17 companies.

InterGame spoke with Mauro Zaccaria of Tecnoplay this week, one of the prime movers in the breakaway show. “The major amusement products distributors in Italy decided to do this, to create a show for the amusement sector only. The main reason for the secession from the ENADA is that it had lately become an AWP, VLT and betting show and the amusement sector was constantly being reduced. We felt that we needed a completely separate event from the gaming side of the business, a new identity.”

Zaccaria said that the companies supporting the show would fill the hall - “it is not too large, so there is no room for more exhibitors.”

The first two days of the show will be for the trade only, with the third day reserved for the general public. For further information on the new show, contact the Italian publication Facto Edizioni on [email protected]
