Major shopping malls developer Majid Al Futtaim – which has its own FECs division running the international Magic Planet brand – is to build a US$81.6m new retail project in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital.
The mall will have 18,000sq.m of leasable area for 60 shops and a Magic Planet, plus a Carrefour hypermarket. It is due to open at the end of next year.
Last year MAF announced plans to invest US$8.1bn in the UAE by 2030, including new malls in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The company is also building malls now in Oman, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. It currently has 29 Magic Planets open.
